Hello again :) Project HappyChild has been on line thirteen years today, and we have just reached 99 million visits worldwide. The website is almost completed now :) and we're on target for completing the pagebuilding and link restores by the time the visit counter reaches 100 million (probably early April 2011).

Sorry we've been out of touch for a while :/ the sheer load of the dual-language worksheets and the new GCSE science area has meant there hasn't been any spare time anywhere! but finally now, everything is beginning to be drawn together.

There are now over 25,000 pages on the site - you can see the main site areas in the navigation table at the foot of this page - and work in recent weeks has focussed on checking and restoring secondary (off-site) links that had broken during the long months and years of actually building all the pages :/

Major updates have been made to many areas of the site, including the links to school-nets across the world - the 22 area-pages of Schools Interchange now linking an incredible 400,000 schools worldwide.

We have also just completed the final update to Andy's Guide to Pokémon - and our thanks go to the many thousands of visitors who have sent in help messages over the last ten years or so, to help make this area into the extraordinary resource it now provides (see the RBY Pokédex page for evidence of that).

Aside from the Police Letters Alphabet, UK Prime Ministers, and the first pages of the Accelerated Learning area (the basic info/resources with which this site was begun), a major focus here has always been the Project HappyChild Directory, which features Charities helping children in many different ways.

The Directory pages have recently been massively overhauled, to link wherever possible to the websites of the individual Charities - in some instances (content etc.) we have been unable to link, but if so we have included other contact details instead. Anyone who benefits from the free educational resources on the site here is asked to help support one or other of the Charities, if they're in a position to do so.

Now that the Directory links and contact info have been restored, we would request any Directory Charities who would like to update the wording of their entry, to get in touch :)

It's been a long 13 years : D and we're delighted that the major pagebuilding work is "done", now. And somewhat astonished that this website still continues to receive around a million page-views per month :)

Our thanks to every one of you who has supported the site over the years since 4th March 1998 - our new "The Journey" page shows the countdown to 100 million visits, by which time we trust that the remaining link restores will have been completed - just "USA State Counties" now remaining to be checked and re-linked across the USA.

After which we're planning to go away for a long while in order to figure out some way of funding this website longer-term, so that we can leave it on line virtually forever :)

We'll be back of course, intermittently, to add the new resources being provided by outside contributors - elements content for the science pages, more dual-language worksheets, and the remaining wordsearch puzzles for the Keywords for Learning area.

There may not be any more Newsletters : / difficult to say, right now. Never possible to second-guess what the future might hold :)
