ANTI-SLAVERY

Anti-Slavery (A-S) addresses all forms of slavery in the world today, including child slavery. We work with action groups around the globe who are fighting slavery within their own countries and seek to stimulate international action against it. A-S fights slavery through research, lobbying, public campaigning and education. We also have education packs that would be of interest to teachers.

CHILD GROWTH FOUNDATION

Umbrella organization for Turners Syndrome, IUGR Russell Silver Syndrome, Sotos Syndrome, PSM, Growth Hormone Insufficiency/MPHD and Bone Dysplasia Groups. The Child Growth Foundation aims to raise public and professional awareness of growth disorders and their associated problems. Offers support and advice to parents and contact with others in similar situations. Linear growth is the most sensitive indicator of a child's wellbeing and a number of endocrine and non-endocrine (ie Coeliac disease) problems can be picked up if a child is not growing. As a child has such a short time to grow it is obvious that the sooner a problem is diagnosed the earlier treatment can begin, should treatment be appropriate.
