Explaining how fractions work isn't altogether straightforward - so three original "Bart and Miss Walker" stories, explaining the basics of how fractions work, are now available on line, exclusively at Freeway and Project HappyChild [click any of the titles below, to read and/or print the story].
Children aged around 9-11 should be able to read these stories easily, and they can be used in class situations or at home. All three stories and the associated worksheets are free to print [see the main Freeway page re copyright and terms of use].
Ideally each child should first have done the Times Tables worksheets and be thoroughly comfortable with using times tables, before reading these stories.
