AREA 4: FREE WORKSHEETS & EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES MATHS : KEY STAGE 1 : INDEX |
ADDITION There are now 2000 free-to-print addition worksheets on line at this site [each should print onto a single sheet] for children to learn and practise basic number bonds. 2000 free-to-print subtraction worksheets are also now available. There is a full set of 50 free-to-print times tables worksheets on line, four practice sheets for each of the tables 1-12 plus a linear record sheet and a times tables square for children to keep a record of what they have learned. Each set of four "times tables" worksheets is carefully graduated so that the child can see the logical progressions from one component to the next, building confidence as well as skill over a period and avoiding learning "parrot fashion". It is strongly recommended that a child tackles no more than one "new table" per week. After a lot of requests, we've put together a full set of 50 free-to-print worksheets for division, in the same "times tables" format as for multiplication, above. We'd request that *all* parents and teachers ensure that children are fully adept in the multiplication worksheets *before* starting any of the division worksheets - you'll find the reasoning behind this on the division index page. NUMBERS ** new ** After a request from Eleanor, one of our visitors, we've added a print-able sheet for numbers from 1-1000 (which can be enlarged to A3 on a photocopier, to put up on a wall, etc.). We've now also added a page for numbers from 1-100, along with free related worksheets for prime numbers, square numbers, numbers divisible by 2, 3, 4 etc. - please click here. |

Free to print in the existing format for non-commercial use. RANDOM MATHS PROBLEMS Fairbanks Country Day Preschool through HighSchool, San Diego, California, provides a free maths resource on the web called Course Server. Our thanks to Randall Rose who wrote to us: If a student or teacher goes to the Course Server web site and places tick marks next to the problem types he or she wants, the Course Server program will then display a web page containing maths problems of each of these types, along with a separate web page containing the solutions to these problems. We have a very large variety of maths problems: there are several thousand problem types to choose from, and whenever a particular problem type is selected, Course Server will randomly change the numbers and circumstances used in the problem so that the solution will be different each time.
9th May 2005: Our thanks to Kaiya Williams who has sent in details of this amazing resource ..... Maths Practice Books and Lesson Plans - "covers the whole years work for years 1 to 6 - scroll down the whole page" ..... Note their disclaimer: "The material is made available through the CIMT for downloading and dissemination for NON-PROFIT MAKING PURPOSES ONLY." Copymasters, practice books and lesson plans (175 lessons for *each* year from Year 1 to Year 6) - beautifully-constructed worksheets and nearly all the data accessible without "passwords" [their site says "passwords are not normally available to individuals who are not part of an educational institution"]. Homeschooling parents should be able to make use of a *huge* percentage of this resource however - it is quite the most comprehensive and practical guide to learning Maths we have ever seen on the Internet. This free resource has been created through a collaboration between the Peto Institute in Budapest, Hungary, and the Centre for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching at Exeter University, England. |
