| Re # 4086 - "In Leaf Green, my 7-year old grandson is blocked by a snorlax in his game and does not know how get past him. How can he defeat him and keep on going?" To get past the Snorlax near Celadon, go to Celadon City. Go to the Game Corner. Fight the Rocket Grunt blocking the poster. Click on the poster, and go up the stairs. (Walk right a little bit.) Fight EVERYBODY to get to the boss of Team Rocket (fighting everybody is required). Fight a certain grunt, and get the LIFT KEY. Use this to go in the elevator to Bottom 4 floor. Fight two grunts and then the Team Rocket Boss, Giovanni. He has a Ryhorn, Kangaskhan, and I think Nidorino. Fight him and get the SILPH SCOPE. Go to Lavender Town. Go to the Pokémon Tower. Keep on going up the stairs. At one of the staircases, fight and faint the Marowak (you can't catch it). Go up the stairs and fight three Rocket Grunts. Then talk to the man. Talk to him again in his house. He will give you POKÉFLUTE. Go to Snorlax and click on him. It will ask you to use the POKÉFLUTE. Say yes. You fight the Snorlax. It is recommended you catch it. (I caught mine with a Great Ball while he was asleep.) Don't worry, if you don't catch it there is another one on route 12 (awakening it is only optional). There you go. If you run from the Snorlax, it will be gone. | |||||||

Arcanine for Heracross, for Alakazam get a Gengar (evolve a Haunter) and make sure it knows Shadow Ball and use it, for Tyranitar get a strong water pokémon like Gyarados and make sure it knows Hydro Pump and use it, for Arcanine use the same water pokémon you used for Tyranitar and the same attack (hydro pump). If you had taken Charizard use a strong Grass/Electric pokémon for Blastoise, if you had taken Blastoise use a strong fire/psychic/ice pokémon for Venusaur and if you had taken Venusaur use a strong water/electric/rock pokémon for Charizard and for Gyarados use a strong electric pokémon (all of them should be at least above LV 70) and you should beat him. | |||||||

| I'm Mimi from the USA and for Ruby and Sapphire to find Latios/Latias faster (1) you need to have seen him before (2) then go to the patch of grass above Slateport (the one that's in front of the entrance to cycling road) (3) Get on an Acro bike then use a Repel (4) Hop on acro bike in grass for 20 seconds... if he/she doesn't show up go into the cycling road shack then back out and try hopping again. I've tried it, it works, I found him in less than 5 minutes. Have Wobbuffet in first slot of line-up (shadow tag is its special ability) so then he/she can't run. Whittle down its HP then start throwing Ultra Balls. Congratulations you've just caught Latios/Latias. Happy Gaming, MiMi P.S. THIS SITE ROCKS THANX ANDY!!! | |||||||

| Hello. This is a reply to cheat # 3283. First of all I have two comments. The first one is that in every game so far made in America, Zapdos cannot learn the move Sky Attack, and a Charizard can't learn Heat Wave. And second, I disagree with the moves for Mewtwo and Charizard, I believe the best set of moves for Mewtwo is Psychic, Hyper Beam, Recover, and Earthquake. To me the best set for Charizard is Flamethower, Fly, Dragon Claw, and Blast Burn. Daniel, USA P.S. In pokémon Emerald, at the battle frontier, go south of the battle palace to the waterfall, and use a wailmer pail on the tree to get a Soodowoodo, and go down the waterfall to the cave on the left to get Smeargles. On the file I have now I found a level 172 Rapidash, a level 154 Parasect, and a level 139 Slowpoke. My starting pokémon was Bulbasaur and I had a three letter name. | sender: | Mike | county/state: | not stated | country: | not stated | ITEM NUMBER: | # 4219 |
| Hi, my name's Mike, and this is in response to cheat # 3047. I know a lot of people don't play pokémon blue, red or yellow any more, but this is for those of you that do pick up the game once in a while (I recently started playing again, because I just got a old school game boy pocket). Code # 3047 does in fact work (for blue and red, and I believe yellow, too), and here's why: In the pokémon games, you are (technically) only supposed to be able to have one battle at a time. If done properly, you can trick the game into thinking there's more then one battle going on. This will mess up the game's coding, and (I'm not quite sure why) will make a wild pokémon appear. This glitch is done by walking into someone's line of view from off screen - pressing start just before they see you, and then flying / teleporting / digging / escape roping / etc. to another city (this has to be done by walking from offscreen, because the game will take a split second to load the trainer, which is all the time you'll need to click start - if you try to do it with another trainer that does NOT require him to appear from off the screen, youll never manage to click the start button fast enough). While you're flying/digging/whatevering away, you'll see the "!" appear above that trainer's head. After landing in another city (your start button won't work - don't worry, that's supposed to happen), you then battle another trainer, and when you return to the route that the original trainer was on (the one who you managed to escape from) your start menu will appear. Close the menu, and a wild pokémon will appear! The wild pokémon depends on the special of the last pokémon you just battled. The special needed to find a Mew is 21, which is why the trainer with the Slowpoke near nugget bridge will work (that Slowpoke is one of the few trainer pokémon that has a special of 21). However, if you have already beaten that trainer, don't shoot yourself just yet. Another way to do this is to battle a trainer (they have to walk up to you, you cannot go talk to them), and then run into a wild Ditto. Battle that Ditto with a pokémon of yours that has a special of 21. Because Transform causes the Ditto to change all his stats into the stats of the pokémon he transformed into, he'll end up having a 21 special, which is what you need to get a Mew. But, you NEED to fight a trainer before you find that Ditto, and you CAN'T battle any other trainers or wild pokémon until you go back to the trainer that you ran away from. I know there are a few trainers that you can escape from, such as a birdcatcher just to the right of fuschia city, but I don't know them all. Also, battling pokémon with different specials will result in other wild pokémon besides Mew. I believe you can also catch any of the other legendary pokémon this way, but they'll all be on level 7 (I'm not so sure about this part, but it's only logical to think that since the Mew is on level 7). Sorry about the really long e-mail, but I needed to space to give you all the information. You can cut it down a bit if you want, just as long as all the important parts get posted. Also, I didn't figure this out all by myself, I had the help of a few friends, and some different websites. A few more things. 1) the phantom PC works in BOTH blue and red, I'm not sure about yellow, and 2) the pokémon you find by the using the missingno cheat depends on what LETTERS you've chosen on your name, not by how long the name is. I think the even letters (the second, fourth, sixth, and so on) determine the level, and the odd letters (first, third, fifth, etc) determine the kind of pokémon. I hope all this information is useful to someone. I know that with the other pokémon games coming out, people don't play the older ones as much ... but you have to remember, red and blue are classics! Pick them up again some time! Hope this helps! Mike | |||||||

| In red/blue/yellow it is necessary to get the town map after you get your pokedex, this is essential to new trainers picking up the old game, otherwise, if they didn’t explore, they might not find even the pokémon league. Also, I would like to add, in the pallet town/Viridian city area, there are three free potions. One, when you start out, go to your computer, and you can withdraw a potion. Two, go to the man walking around right past the first patch of grass you cross on your way to Viridian, and talk to a pokémart employee, he will give you a free potion. Three, walk west from the pokémart in viridian, near the beginning, where the route starts to form, turn north immediately, there will be a narrow walk, take it until you come to a bush, press “A”, Voila! Three free potions! Love the site, I’d appreciate it if you added when the pokémon learn all of the attacks. ~ Justin. | |||||||

| E-MAILS:
due to ongoing problems with mail getting through to here, we've made a * mail form * you can use to write to us. In the years since the Cheats area at Andy's Guide to Pokémon first started, there have been many mail problems - and quite a few computer crashes - and we'd like to say sorry to anyone whose messages have got lost along the way .... just remember you can *always* re-send, and hopefully now that we have a more guaranteed way for info to reach us here, we'll find a way to get most or all of the genuine info on line :) We very much appreciate the support that all of you give this site. |
