| Where is URSARING in silver version? | ||||||
| URSARING is one of the Pokémon that appear only in Gold, not in Silver - the others are TEDDIURSA, GLIGAR, MANTINE, SPINARAK and ARIADOS (as well as MANKEY, PRIMAPE, GROWLITHE and ARCANINE, which can also be TRADED from red / blue / yellow). If you want any of these in the Silver version, you will need to TRADE. For reference, there are other Pokémon which appear only in Silver (not in Gold) (therefore needing to be TRADED to Gold) which are PHANPY, DONPHAN, LEDYBA, LEDIAN, DELIBIRD and SKARMORY (as well as MEOWTH, PERSIAN, VULPIX and NINETALES). See also # 3091, which gives a list of most of the Pokémon that needed to be TRADED only from Red / Blue / Yellow, when Gold and Silver first came out - MEWTWO also fell into that category. Note: Feedback appreciated. Please mention # 3281 if you reply :) | ||||||

| Re Cheat # 3227, I am very sorry to say this but you can't TRADE any pokémon from gold/silver onto any game exept Red, Blue, and Yellow. But if you want to TRADE pokémon from gold/silver onto red, blue, and yellow, they have to be the original Kanto pokemon. So, bottom line, you can TRADE gold/silver pokémon onto red+blue+yellow, but they can't be Johto Pokemon. | ||||||

MEWTWO {LV 100} - PSYCHIC, THUNDER BOLT, FLAMETHROWER, ICE BEAM. RAICHU {LV 100} - EARTHQUAKE, VOLT TACKLE, IRON TAIL, THUNDERBOLT. I beat all of those five with a Level 42 LAPRAS (with BODY SLAM and HYDRO PUMP) and Level 66 ZAPDOS (THUNDERSHOCK and DRILL PECK). I levelled them up with tons of RARE CANDYs and CALCIUM and CARBOS and IRON and PROTEINs (I used the MISSINGNO trick for these items). | Well you should be able to go to the Unknown Dungeon after beating the Elite Four and mending the machine in One Island. The Unknown Dungeon should be north of Cerulean City, with a left turn after crossing Nugget Bridge. No-one has so far e-mailed about the "great achievement" but you'll need strong Pokémon for the Unknown Dungeon. You may have to have given the Ruby and Sapphire gems (see # 3286) to Celio (see # 3171] before the man at the Unknown Dungeon will move. Note: Feedback appreciated. | For HO-OH, you need the Rainbow Wing - see # 3143. For LUGIA you need the Silver Wing which in Crystal you're supposed to be able to get from the Old Man at Pewter City. LUGIA should be found in the Whirl Islands - see # 3124. Because you might not catch LUGIA straight off, it's recommended you save your game when you've found him, before you try. | On red and blue, if you combine catching the Pokémon over level 100 (CINNABAR ISLAND SURFing up and down the right side of the island, the gym side - to do this you must NOT talk to the WEEDLE tutorial man but go straight to surfing) and you only have the 6th badge allowing no higher than level 70 to obey your orders, the over level 100 Pokémon will obey you regardless of level. Also these Pokémon level up to level 100 after any amount of EXP but do not worry because they will still obey you. They will have rubbish attacks but if you use the MISSINGNO cheat on TMs then you can give them the desired TM moves. | ||||||
| We had some trouble following the logic of this one! If you decide to try it out, please save your game before you try. We don't want to exclude anything which *might* be genuine ..... but we do have a few reservations about this cheat, so please let us know how you get on. Note: Feedback appreciated. | What you said about the name used being linked with Missingno, could be right. I've been told you can find other sorts of Missingno (don't know where) which have different shapes because of the name you choose for the game, if you choose a small w, x or y for any of the letters 3, 5, or 7 in the word: 'w' - Kabutops fossil Missingno, 'x' - Aerodactyl fossil Missingno, 'y' - ghost Missingno. | ||||||
| We have to be truthful and say we've never heard of this before. However the long list of names our visitors have sent in, on the Missingno page here, doesn't have one single name that falls into that category - the nearest is "MAXIMUS" but that was all in capital letters. If any of you want to try a new game on red or blue with a name with a lower-case w, x or y, let us know how you get on! not only for the Missingno Cheat itself, but also in the rest of the game (eg you might expect to find a Ghost Missingno where you'd find ghost Pokémon, like Pokémon Tower, or a Fossil Missingno where you get other fossils) ..... if you *do* find any other sort of Missingno, don't try to catch it as it will probably mess up your game - just run away and see if it has multiplied up Item 6 on your list. And let us know :) * Please mention # 3295 if you reply. | ||||||

| I'm Greg from Maryland USA - info for Andy - I was playing my friend's blue version and when they told me about Missingno I was surprised. Hey - turn your game boy upside down while Missingno is on screen - it's an upside-down wrench and I caught it (after 1 battle it goes level 100). Missingno disappears if you catch it and save then turn the power off. | ||||||
| It is indeed like a wrench, upside-down :) but we wouldn't recommend anyone catching Missingno (because it can stuff up your game) and especially not saving once it's caught, because that way you've got little chance of rescuing your game. Go to the trainers' gym (underground fighting place in Cerulean City in Kanto, then battle there, and then fly to the league and you will face your Rival as you head to the stairs to start fighting the Elite 4, and you get his gold and exp. You can beat ASH every day as many times as you like in the Mt. Silver cave. Beat the Elite 4 then restart, when you are at home, then fly to Mt. Silver and go battle ASH, beat him, go to GoldenRod, catch the Magnet train and fly to battle the Elite 4, then go to Mt. Silver again (over and over). Gets you mega levels and loads of money. | I have a pokedex of 199 in Crystal after TRADING with Red version. I caught a MEWTWO with only one, I repeat one, ULTRA BALL and I TRADED him to my Crystal version, along with the Helix fossil that I got. By getting the HMS that I need I just get Pokemon that are under level 10 and teach them the moves, then TRADE them to RED. It takes time and it gets real boring TRADING over and over to get more MASTERBALLS, RARE CANDY, and others. But this mostly works only when you want to boost only one account and that being mostly CRYSTAL for me. | ||||||

| In Crystal I am seriously looking for all 250 Pokémon and I can't find them all (I have TRADED some from other games). Does anyone have a list of the exact Pokémon that evolve in Crystal from TRADING, and of which Pokémon need to have items used on them? | ||||||

| E-MAILS:
due to ongoing problems with mail getting through to here, we've made a * mail form * you can use to write to us. In the years since the Cheats area at Andy's Guide to Pokémon first started, there have been many mail problems - and quite a few computer crashes - and we'd like to say sorry to anyone whose messages have got lost along the way .... just remember you can *always* re-send, and hopefully now that we have a more guaranteed way for info to reach us here, we'll find a way to get most or all of the genuine info on line :) We very much appreciate the support that all of you give this site. |
