| Don't waste your time on this Cheat - lots of people wrote in to say it didn't work, and we tried it here (*long* process) and it didn't work for us, either. As far as we're concerned this one is total rubbish - pity but a lot of people made up cheats in the early days of trying to get MEW. | ||||||

Usually it's an event that members of the public can attend, where you can get "MEW" or another hard-to-get-hold-of Pokémon put directly onto your gameboy. | This is to confirm # 3047. I try to avoid as many trainers as I can, so I was able to do this after I completed the game and was collecting all the Pokémon. It took me a few times to get "start" right, but I got it on try 3. It's really easy to follow if you read the original message. Mew is pretty good when you get him to level 60. He can learn any move, so mine knows hyperbeam, psychic, metronome, and surf. His stats are as follows:attack:159 defense:152 speed:153 social:156, type:psychic. Also, about the MISSINGNO pokémon appearances: I have red version, my name is Jack in the game, and I see Golbats (which are impossible to get away from), Golducks, and Pokémon from the place I was last. If you are doing something important do not, I repeat DO NOT, push a+ b+ start+ select all at the same time or your game will go back to where it says GAME FREAK. I don't know if this happens on Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, or Crystal, because they are Color games. It does do this on RUBY, SAPPHIRE, FIRE RED, and LEAF GREEN, though. This is more of a tip. If you're in the middle of something important and have not saved, don't hold the buttons down together. | ||||||

| This is a reply to cheat # 3047 (red version). It really does work, only make sure that when you get to the trainer with the slowpoke DO NOT walk right in front of him, the game will freeze up. Instead walk in front of him far enough so he has to walk to you. Then defeat him and fly to Lavender Town then go right and... well you know the rest. I tried it and it works, try it out Andy, you'll see it's a surefire way to get MEW without a gameshark. This "glitch" does not mess with the saved file, because I then moved MEW onto the Pokémon Stadium 2 and transferred it onto my other game cartridges without a problem. | ||||||

In the years since the Cheats area at Andy's Guide to Pokémon first started, there have been many mail problems - and quite a few computer crashes - and we'd like to say sorry to anyone whose messages have got lost along the way .... just remember you can *always* re-send, and hopefully now that we have a more guaranteed way for info to reach us here, we'll find a way to get most or all of the genuine info on line :) We very much appreciate the support that all of you give this site. |
