MISSINGNO cheat - Generally, the Pokémon that appear on the coast are determined by the area that you were in last. For example, if you want to catch a TAUROS, go to the right part of the SAFARI ZONE, and then SURF up and down the coast. Different Pokémon from that SAFARI ZONE area appear, and when I did it for ages (absolutely ages!) a TAUROS appears, and you can fight and catch it with a Pokéball.

This is in reply to Cheat # 3037. I found a cheat that looked like it would work. I tried it. And here's the big part - IT DID!! Here's how it goes .....

If you have already beaten the game, chances are this code won't work. The reason why is there are a couple of trainers you can't fight. They are the trainer at route 25 (he uses a SLOWPOKE at level 17 and talks about the party on the S.S. Anne) and the gambler at route 8 (he has two POLIWAGs and a POLIWHIRL all at level 22). If you battle them, then this cheat won't work.

OK, now play the game until you have HM02 (FLY). Now you can do the cheat. Bring a Pokémon that knows FLY with you. After you've done all that, go to Route 8 and (avoiding the trainer described above) go to the entrance of the underground path and stand right in front of the door. This would be a good time to save in case you mess up. Now ... on to catching Mew! Take one step down and press start immediately. If done correctly, he won't see you yet. Go to the Pokémon that knows FLY and fly to CERULEAN CITY. Go up Nugget Bridge and go to the Slowpoke trainer. Beat him then fly to LAVENDER TOWN. Go down to the path and the menu will pop up automatically. Press B to cancel and you'll be attacked by a wild Mew!!!

P.S. Cheat # 3042 has Mew's Pokédex data for Blue and Gold. Here it is for crystal:

Hey, My name is Marcus and I come from Australia. The game I used was Pokemon Red and I tested the Mew cheat that Michael M sent in [Cheat # 3047] and it really did work. I got attacked by a level 7 MEW that was kinda difficult to catch. He forgot to mention a simple detail. When you go to the Youngster with SLOWPOKE, you shouldn't walk directly up to him otherwise the game will freeze and you'll have to restart. Make it so that he has to walk to you.

Version: yellow (can also be used for red and blue). A good way to train your Pokémon to level 100 is to fight the elite 4 again and again. This will make your Pokémon strong and you will also have a lot of money. This money can be used to buy coins from the desk in the games corner in CELADON CITY; with these coins you can get the PORYGON and other Pokémon that cost a lot of coins in the shop next to the games corner. This tip is recomended for Pokémon yellow because you cannot do the Missingo cheat [Cheat # 2001] but it takes a long time - took me about 5 hours of play to get 6 pokemon on level 100.

This is for yellow, blue and red. If you want the legendary birds here is where they are. ARTICUNO is at the seafoam islands - you have to use STRENGTH to knock the boulders down, then fall down and you can find it. ZAPDOS is at the powerplant. You have to go all the way through the power plant to get to ZAPDOS. MOLTRES is on route 23 in the cave when you are on your way to VICTORY ROAD. You should bring PLENTY of ULTRA BALLS when attempting to capture these awe-inspiring birds. You should SAVE your game before attempting to fight these birds. Yo Andy! Just to say, if you want to capture DITTO for Pokémon red, then you'll find it in INDIGO PLATEAU. Once you've shown your badges to all the people (apart from two) you'll notice that there is some tall grass on the path. In the long strip of grass, hunt around, and you should find a DITTO. (Tip - try using attacks like LEECH SEED, POISON GAS, anything, that can hurt them just a little bit.)

Re the MISSINGNO CHEAT, you all know this Cheat! But here are ways to use it also. Follow what it says in # 2001. You will eventually find a pokémon called MISSINGNO. Fight him, but don't catch him, because it will stuff your game and it will defeat the purpose of doing this cheat. When you win, look at your sixth item. If done correctly, the number will be a blur. It will be between 9 and 9,999. To find out how many you got, deposit them in your pc until it says 99 on how many you want to deposit. It is fun to use this on one-of-a-kind items, like MASTER BALL, on items that will make your Pokémon powerful, like PROTEIN or RARE CANDY, expensive stuff like NUGGET, or powerful TM's like HYPER BEAM. Keep in mind that Pokémon you get below level 100 cannot go any higher than 100, and Pokémon you get 101 over can only go to 225 before their level goes down to zero.
