Game Shark codes for Pokémon yellow: I know these work, however I have forgotten what they do - I know that one of them is Surfing PIKACHU. You start with 01..d7cf, and where the two dots are, you put in any of the following: 9a (or) 4a (or) 42 (or) 83 (or) 69 (or) 68 (or) 67.
Note: We don't use a GameShark here so we need some feedback from visitors as to whether these codes are correct [quote # 3001 if you reply :) ].
Please always ensure before using a test code that you save your game first, just to be on the safe side.

Dear Andy, this code only works on gameshark. Type 01be26d1 in your gameshark. Then type 0154d7cf in it. Then, start the game over and go out of your house.
When Professor Oak comes and catches
PIKACHU then gives him to you, PIKACHU will be at level 190. Although, when he fights he'll turn back at level 100.
p.s. this code works, I've done it loads of times.
Note: We don't use a GameShark here so we need some feedback from visitors as to whether these codes are correct [quote # 3002 if you reply :) ].

I think I have a helpful cheat. If you have a strong Pokémon (like MEWTWO) and want more than one, try this.

Go to the
TRADE centre and have your Pokémon with you. The person you're TRADING with must have a Pokémon they don't mind losing. When the TRADE is almost over, waiting will appear. The person who received the bad Pokémon turns off his/her gameboy just after "waiting" disappears and just before "TRADE complete!" appears. The person who received the strong Pokémon turns off his/her gameboy well after TRADE complete appears (TRADE complete will stay and will not disappear). Reason for turning off well after is risk of losing the strong Pokémon. When the gameboys are turned on again, both games will have the strong Pokémon. It is a good idea for one person to have six unimportant/common Pokémon and the other to have five plus the strong/rare Pokémon. This way after many TRADES each person will have six of the power Pokémon to keep with them.
I have done this cheat many times and it works in red, blue and yellow versions.
Note: Actually, there is similar information to this on # 2021, along with a relevant comment from Andy. It would be really appreciated if all visitors could read the info *already* on line at this site, before writing in. We very much appreciate everyone's input and sometimes things *can* usefully be clarified or expanded - please just check before writing whether something has already been mentioned, and if this is the case, please quote the *number* so we can link things together and enable visitors to easily find the linked items. Thank you :)

Hi Andy! I just started over on my red version (I start red over all the time). If you get someone to TRADE you a Pokémon that knows CUT instead of getting CUT, and you get MEWTWO (by beating the Elite Four) you can go back to VERMILION and the SS Anne will still be there .... with a truck load of MASTER BALLS on it. They can only be bought (from the truck) by paying about $200. Hope this helps :)

An easier way to beat BROCK is to use PIKACHU's quick attack.

Hi, my name is Gina and this is a tip not a cheat, I figured out at the beginning of the game when it says Game Boy if you press the directional buttons you can change the colours of the game. This works in red and blue but not in yellow (in yellow the colours change in each town).

I am stating that Cheat #3007 works. Here's a list of the buttons you can push and what colors you get. The instruction booklets for Game Boy Colour, Advance, and Advance SP note this for game paks made only for the original Game Boy.

Press Up to get brown. * Press Up and A to get red. * Press Up and B to get dark brown.
Press Down to get pastel mix. * Press Down and A to get orange. * Press Down and B to get yellow.
Press Left to get blue. * Press Left and A to get dark blue. * Press Left and B to get grey.
Press Right to get green. * Press Right and A to get dark green.
Press Right and B to get reverse colours (black will be white and so on).

For the 2 button combinations you need to press them both at the same time. I hope this helps. Could you please list the combinations and colors on the website? I am sure that would help all the readers who want to know what does what. Thanks.
Note: Feedback appreciated. Please mention # 3008 if you reply :) NB: See QA13 re use of button combinations.
