Project HappyChild is non-profit and this site is here to offer free educational resources, link up children and schools across the world, and also highlight the needs of less fortunate kids.
So far there are 22388 pages on line, with a possible/likely overall total of around 25,000 when all current areas in progress are completed. There's a "site links table" on all main pages (eg see the Welcome Page) which links to around 40 separate areas/themes so far. Newsletters tend to be somewhat intermittent - the latest one is on line here - but the Latest Site News page is updated with news of interim pagebuilding, whenever time allows.
Major resources still under construction include:
[1] "dual-language worksheets" - see the Translators' page for details of the language-sets currently in preparation. Those on line already include French-English verbs + vocabulary (800+ worksheets), Romanian-English verbs + vocabulary (800+ worksheets), German-English verbs + vocabulary (800+ worksheets), Russian-English vocabulary (400+ worksheets), Polish-English vocabulary (400+ worksheets), Dutch-English verbs + vocabulary (800+ worksheets), Italian-English verbs (390+ worksheets), Arabic-English verbs + vocabulary (800+ worksheets) and Urdu-English vocabulary (400+ worksheets).
The content for the Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese worksheets has already been translated, but we urgently need volunteer help from another language professional to validate the content so that the worksheets can go on line - please do pass on details to anyone you think might be able to help. The 'contact' page gives details of how to get in touch with us.
Our thanks to site visitors who have offered help with the checking of the Italian and Spanish vocabulary worksheets, and we have also now received translation offers for Greek, Bahasa Indonesia, Turkish and Hungarian. The Translators' page has now been updated.
[2] French grammar We're delighted to say that our 48-page Guide to Basic French Grammar is now fully on line. Creation and checking of this resource took a very long time (years, as it turned out) and our thanks to site visitors for their patience.
[3] Andy's Guide to Pokémon has recently been massively expanded (eg see the Red/Blue/Yellow pokédex) to integrate help sent in by site visitors over the last nine years, and the Platinum pokédex has just gone on line. There is still a small amount of work to be done, to add the latest items sent in by visitors, but this area is almost completed now.
[4] Keywords for Learning - 180 free wordsearch puzzles are on line already, and more keyword lists are requested from visitors. See the index to word searches page for the types of keywords we're looking for - we're aiming to create around 1000 puzzles in all.
[5] 3D Gridbuilding - Science ~ stage four has now gone up on line (09/11/09). Take a look at this extraordinary new resource - this is being built "organically" in a way that has never before been possible. There's a lot of information to be added yet! but the basic underlying structure is now becoming visible. A page like "molecules" shows the sort of lateral linking that is now starting to take place (automatically, by means of the programming behind the scenes).
All the educational resources we build on the site here are free, so that they're available to children anywhere. If you'd like to "give something back" (and if you're in a financial position to do so) we'd very much appreciate your support for the many charities who help children, shown in the Project HappyChild Directory and the international "projects helping kids" areas including the Americas, Europe + Asia, Australasia, and Africa.
Support would also be welcomed for Events raising funds for disadvantaged kids, and for crisis appeals anywhere in the world. Thank you :)
