In this Directory you'll find details of about 80 organizations that help children. They're spread across the UK - some of them help kids here, whilst others, like Save The Children, Cafod, UNICEF, Plan International, and Children In Crisis, help children in other parts of the world as well.

If you look all the way through the Directory [you should be able to print this page-by-page direct from screen - see cover page], you'll find most of the problems children can experience - from dyslexia, stammering, asthma and eczema, to blindness, deafness, physical and mental handicaps. Alcohol- and drug addiction are covered, also country holidays for children - and much, much else. Our Syndromes area provides a cross-reference so you should easily be able to locate the relevant organization to help with any particular difficulty.

These organizations do a lot of valuable work - and another reason for including the Project HappyChild Directory on our website is to ask you to help raise funds for them - if every school or university reading this were to raise just Ł100 (US$200) a term for any charity in the Directory or any of those featured in Projects helping Children [Area 6], this could generate MILLIONS OF POUNDS. Every term.

Just by holding a "casual clothes day" (where everyone pays 50p [$1] to come in wearing casual clothes, fancy dress or whatever) an incredible amount of income could be raised to help less fortunate children, wherever they may be. Would you like to help these charities?

Those of you reading this who work for a company are also asked to help!
These organizations are almost all dependent on voluntary contributions -
and they are there to help all our children.
