Since this website began in 1998, we have gradually been building links to a huge range of 'places across the planet' -
not only the 'big countries' but also all the other areas of the world that children may live in.
The massive new "Countries A-Z" area (which includes a gigantic colour-coded table of countries) includes capital cities, country codes, dialling codes, and links to everything from education and school-nets to currency (banknotes), statistics (CIA world factbook), projects helping children, 'your age in seconds', population clock, latitude and longitude of capital cities, global weather, world time zone map, a currency converter, and volcanoes.
Take a look at a sample page here.
Of course many children live on islands - so we have also built an "Islands A-Z" area which not only identifies which islands 'belong' to which countries, but also links to 'Islands on the Air', the global island network, the island law site and the UN earthwatch island directory.
Many of the larger islands in the world are covered in more depth via the 'Countries A-Z' links - and also the Pacific and Caribbean areas of Schools Interchange (and likewise the Pacific/Caribbean areas of 'Projects helping Children') - wherever in the world you're looking for, you should be able to find out related information re the links from this site, as well as having a way to contact schools or organizations helping children in that area.
