FREE TRANSLATIONS

One of the most important factors in Project HappyChild's huge audience worldwide has been the free on-line translation facilities linked from all the main website pages [click any individual language box to access]:

Systran were the first organization to offer Project HappyChild a free linking facility, back in December 1998 [see our Sponsors page], and we added a link to the Norwegian free translation facility offered by FreeTranslation.com in September 2000.

In October 2004, English/Arabic and English/Swedish-to-English became available via SYSTRAN, and we have now added links for these languages to all main site pages. Our thanks to Amy Minkler at SYSTRAN for help provided :)

It should be noted also, that both Traditional and Simplified Chinese are available via the links above.

We have kept the original free-translation links in place across the site [with the addition of English, which is surprisingly popular!] but one area in which FreeTranslation.com scores particularly highly is its ability to translate very *long* webpages.

For this reason we would recommend using their direct access link [click here and select "Free Web Translator"] to translate the longest two pages at Project HappyChild - our Index to Free Educational Resources on the Internet in Area 4 and "Glaxibel The Avenger", a UFO story [in the "Creativity" section of Area 6]. This UFO story was written back in 1998 by James Banks, eldest son of Penny Rollo (who builds this site). James does all the technical support for this website as well as now being one of the three Trustees of Project HappyChild, which runs entirely on a non-profit basis.
