Heat is that form of energy which arises from the movement of the particles within that substance.


The more movement of particles, the more heat energy there will be in a system and the higher the temperature will be.


Thus heat is related to temperature, but is not the same.


Heat energy can be transferred by conduction, convection or radiation.


Heat is measured in joules (J).
