Drag is the resistance on an object from the fluid it moves through. The faster the velocity and/or the denser the fluid, the greater the drag against the object will be.


For a free-falling object such as a parachutist, when terminal velocity is reached, the drag becomes equal to the weight of the object, so acceleration is zero.
