do you have an original graphic we could add here, relating to 'centre of mass'? please see the main Gridbuilding page for details of how to get in touch

The centre of mass of an object is the point which acts as if it is where all the mass of the object is concentrated.

The centre of mass may be outside the object (for example, imagine a shape such as a horse-shoe) and, if the object is suspended, it will always lie directly below the point of suspension.

The centre of mass will be located at the same point as the centre of gravity.
