Each molecule of water consists of two atoms of Hydrogen and one atom of Oxygen. This means that the chemical formula of water is H2O


Pure water has neutral pH and is known as the universal solvent, because it dissolves more substances than any other liquid.


About 70% of our bodies is made up of water: by the time we feel thirsty, we have already lost 1% of this total.


About three-quarters of the Earth's surface is covered by water, in addition to what is found underground and in the atmosphere.


The total amount of water present on Earth is fixed and it circulates in the water cycle.
