do you have an original graphic we could add here, relating to 'nucleus'? please see the main Gridbuilding page for details of how to get in touch

The nucleus is the central part of every atom and consists of protons and neutrons. The nucleus is where most of the mass of the atom is concentrated.

Anne Evans

The nucleus of an atom contains protons (which are positively charged) and neutrons (which have no charge), so the nucleus is positively charged.

The nucleus is located in the centre of the atom and represents almost the whole mass of the atom.

Anne Evans

The nucleus is the structure at the centre of an atom, consisting of protons and neutrons packed closely together, around which the electrons move.
