Atomic mass is the mass of an individual atom of an element and therefore consists of the total mass of protons, plus neutrons, plus electrons.
Atomic mass will therefore vary between atoms of the different isotopes of an element, where these exist.
The unit for counting atomic mass is the universal mass unit (u).

(The terms "relative atomic mass", "atomic mass" and "atomic weight" are often used interchangeably, although they are not, in fact, identical, as can be seen from their definitions.)
