Genetic diseases are any diseases whose effects result from change(s) in an organism's DNA and which are inheritable.
Examples of human diseases include Huntington's Disease, where a mutation on chromosome number 4 results in a dominant allele which produces a different variety of a protein called huntingtin, which is toxic to brain and nerve cells.
Another human genetic disease that has been studied in great detail is Cystic Fibrosis, where a mutation produces a defective, recessive allele of a gene responsible for production of mucus.
