Welcome to the POLISH area at Project HappyChild. Thanks to the translation (and checking) help currently being provided by people across the world (all giving their time and expertise entirely free of charge) we are in the process of building a *huge* area of free translation worksheets for children and students to use, across an increasing range of languages.

We're delighted to say that the Polish vocabulary worksheets have now gone on line - at 7.00pm on 070707. Our unremitting thanks for all their hard work since February/March 2006 go to Joanna Poplawska (translating) and Ewa Antonina Stelmach (checking) who have provided the Polish content for the worksheets now linked below.

Areas covered include: food and drink, your home, garden, family, the human body [everything from the body's inner systems to hair, make-up and clothing], animals, birds and insects [including animal sounds], travel, holidays and sightseeing, cars and driving, tools and equipment, or school, office, sports and leisure, shopping, trees, countryside and general chit-chat. All in easy-to-manage blocks, each with about 10 new words or phrases.

The Polish verb pages may not be available for some time yet, but the free Polish vocabulary translation worksheets can be used independently. All worksheets can be used for English-Polish and Polish-English.

Each Polish worksheet is designed to print onto a single A4 sheet [using IE4/IE5 browser setting for "medium text"], and may be used as a non-commercial education resource, free of charge, provided only that each worksheet is printed / photocopied without modification and includes the whole page as it appears on line.
[N.B. - In "My Computer - Internet Options - Advanced - Printing", de-select "print background colours and images"
so as to be able to print a clean black-on-white copy of each page with less use of your ink cartridge.]

It is recommended, when printing, to use the option "print pages 1 to 1" (rather than "print all pages") as each worksheet is designed to print onto a single sheet ["portrait", i.e. shorter side at the top] but because of the html may sometimes overlap onto a second for printing [the second (blank) sheet should not be required]. Draft quality is usually sufficient for a good copy - however use "presentation" if making originals for photocopying.
