Free worksheets on this site are available both at FREEWAY and in Area 14 at Project HappyChild.

Lots of worksheets are advertised as "free" on the Internet - but often
it turns out that you get a few free samples and pay for the rest.

FREEWAY is different. *All* worksheets on line at this site are free to print
for non-commercial use - free for schools, children, students and parents.

That includes "independent" schools (eg schools which charge for a cross-curricular education) - any Freeway resources may be freely used so long as they're not separately charged for, nor extracts copied into any resource which *is* charged for.

All we ask is that the full page of each worksheet is used as it stands, with all the links to other areas of Project HappyChild left in place. Guidelines for printing are given at the foot of this page.

Several main areas of resources are now on line at FREEWAY:
MATHS	Includes 2000 addition worksheets, 2000 subtraction worksheets, and complete system sets of worksheets for learning and practising times tables multiplication and division. A new area has been created for Fractions - "An Introduction to Fractions" is clear enough for 10-year-olds to read for themselves, and a second "Bart & Miss Walker" story explains some of the complexities of "Addition of Fractions". Related fractions worksheets are also now on line, along with a third story on "Fractions and Percentages".
ANY LANGUAGE TO ENGLISH	huge new area now on line - 800+ free worksheets for teaching English anywhere in the world. Translated words can be written onto worksheets and photocopied for student use immediately ..... but longer-term we plan to replicate the whole resource in further complete sets of dual-language worksheets on line at the site here. Quite a number of languages are now scheduled or in preparation, and worksheets are on line or have started going up for French, Russian, Romanian and Polish, as shown below. POLISH	400+ worksheets for Polish/English vocabulary are now on line - index to worksheets is here and Wall-to-Wall Polish is here. All worksheets test Polish-English and English-Polish.
SPELLINGS AND PRONUNCIATION	New resource now completed: "Spellings, Sounds and Meanings". Worksheets on line for poem writing, mc lyrics, making crosswords and lateral thinking, as well as template worksheets for writing / spelling, dictionary meanings, wordsearches, sentence construction and writing crossword clues. The "Sounds Database" has now been created, along with 489 sound files as an aid to pronunciation for children learning English as a second language, and the associated 2000+ free worksheets have gone up on line 23.02.08.

READING	A complete system, "Bricks and Mortar", for teaching children to read English - the consonants are the "bricks" and the vowels are the "mortar" that joins them together. A series of 116 pictures with accompanying notes, all free to print.
ACCELERATED LEARNING	A huge resource (over 180 pages) written by famous memory expert Michael Tipper and including Book Reviews, Mnemonics, Amazing Brain, Great Minds and Memory Training as well as regular Feature Articles.
Andy's Guide to Pokémon	Walkthrough and Pokédex for blue, red & yellow games, detailed background info (500+ pages) including towns, gyms, badges, hms, tms, techniques; Gold & Silver walkthrough, G & S Pokédex, and new areas on line for Pokémon Ruby + Sapphire, Fire Red + Leaf Green, Diamond + Pearl, etc. Massive area for "cheats, tips and shortcuts" with e-mails from children and teenagers in many countries, on all aspects of the games.
Harry Potter	Solomon's Guide to The Magical World of Harry Potter is under construction - around 300 pages are now in place. Likely to be ongoing for the foreseeable future. This resource is currently being significantly restructured, but the new pages won't be on line for a little while longer yet ....

GUIDELINES FOR PRINTING

Each Freeway worksheet is designed to print onto a single A4 sheet [using IE4/IE5 browser setting for "medium text"], and may be used as a non-commercial education resource, free of charge, provided only that each worksheet is printed / photocopied without modification and includes the whole page as it appears on line.
[N.B. - In "My Computer - Internet Options - Advanced - Printing", de-select "print background colours and images" so as to be able to print a clean black-on-white copy of each page with less use of your ink cartridge.]

It's recommended, when printing, to use the option "print pages 1 to 1" (rather than "print all pages") as each worksheet is designed to print onto a single sheet ["portrait", i.e. shorter side at the top] but because of the html may sometimes overlap onto a second for printing [the second (blank) sheet should not be required]. Draft quality is usually sufficient for a good copy - however you may wish to use "presentation" if making originals for photocopying.
