VERBS and PRONOUNS
Remember all those pronouns we met on PRONOUNS 01?
Columns 3 and 4 are quite straightforward - 'direct' and 'indirect' pronouns (note the word order in French for all these examples).
| I gave (to) her the vegetables. |
Je lui ai donné les légumes. |
| I gave them to her. |
Je les lui ai donné. |
However, if using an imperative (eg show me!) you need to use the ones in Columns 5 and 6 (the only really relevant 'changed pronoun' is 'moi').
| Show me! |
Montrez-moi! |
| Give them (to) me! |
Donnez-les-moi! |
One more proviso: if 'en' ('some of it', 'some of them' - meaning, in this case 'some of the vegetables') is used with the imperative, you're back to using the pronouns in Columns 3 and 4.
| Give some (to) me! |
Donnez-m'en! |
