"Just a quick note to say thank you. What a great site. I spent a huge amount of time looking for basic French on line for my daughter and came across your site. Brilliant!! Can honestly say I have learned (and remembered) a lot myself in the last two hours, about all sorts, and will be back soon." Karen G, East Sussex, UK 23rd September 2005 |

"Hi there, Just wanted to say what a fantastic resource your French language section is! It's wonderful!! ... many thanks, Pam 20th April 2008 |
Welcome to the French pages at Project HappyChild. Our free French worksheets currently receive over two million page views per year. We've aimed to make French *easier* to learn, because all the vocabulary is grouped by "themes". Whatever you're looking for, you should find it here! Well, more or less :)
Many children and teenagers find French boring because they're expected to express themselves in five-year-old vocabulary ("My name is ... I live in ... I go shopping"). Our free worksheets make it possible to learn to say rather more than that ... whether about food and drink, your home, garden, family, the human body [everything from the body's inner systems to hair, make-up and clothing], animals, birds and insects [including animal sounds], travel, holidays and sightseeing, cars and driving, tools and equipment, or school, office, sports and leisure, shopping, trees, countryside and general chit-chat. All in easy-to-manage blocks, each with about 10 new words or phrases.
The French verb worksheets are also linked from the huge table below - the English and French verb names take you to the index for that verb, and the numbered columns take you to the individual tenses (column 1 is present tense, etc.).
All the worksheets can be used for both English-French and French-English. This is the *first* dual-language area in a huge project called "Any Language to English", the basic framework of which is now on line - 800+ verb and vocabulary worksheets which can be used for translation into *any* other language. See the Translators page for details of other dual-language sets currently in preparation. Other offers of help from language professionals much appreciated :)
