AREA 7 - Fundraising & Resources

IDEAS SWAP SHOP

Many visitors have asked if they can "give something back" in exchange for the free resources on the site here. Given that this site is here to benefit kids generally [and as all the pagebuilding is done free, our overheads are fairly minimal], we usually ask people if they would raise funds for any of the children's charities featured on the site pages [or make a donation to any of them, if preferred].

However, if you've decided to raise funds to help one of the Charities in the Project HappyChild Directory (or a worldwide Project helping Children) the most difficult part can be deciding how actually to raise the money.

That's why we've opened a specific area where ideas can be collected together, as to the best / easiest ways of fundraising. Particularly for simple ideas that don't take too much work to organise, but which can comfortably generate around Ł100 / US$200 in a very short time.

There are, initially, two sections in this area:

(1) GENERAL - for just about anything you can think of ...

This area has already been subdivided further, with a wide range of general fundraising ideas but also the very-long annual Events Calendar which usually includes celebrity events, endurance challenges, golf days, fashion shows, marathons across the world, skydiving, white-water rafting, ice skating, abseiling and a great deal more, and the serialization of Lance Winslow III's book "How to Run a Successful Car Wash Fundraiser",

and

(2) QUIZZES - which can easily be used in many different geographical areas.

Please do send in your ideas and any quizzes you've designed, for other site visitors to make use of - our visitors range from kids at home and school to parents and grandparents, and from people working for every type of company to representatives of local and national governments. Some people may be able to raise a lot of money, and others only a little - but for the charities who help children, every cheque received, large or small, can make a real difference.
