HAVEN HOUSE FOUNDATION ..... The White House, Mallinson Park, Woodford Green, Essex IG8 9LB.

The Haven House Foundation has been set up with the aim of providing hospice care for terminally-ill children and their families, as well as short-term respite care for children with severe life-limiting conditions.
We have taken a 99-year lease on The White House [see photo] and it costs us approximately £1.3 million a year to run. We opened our first bedrooms in 2003 and need help to raise funds to pay the ongoing running costs - all fundraising help and donations gratefully appreciated.

FUNFORLIFE ..... Bumblehole Cottage Annexe, Lidstone, Chipping Norton OX7 4HL.

FunForLife works with disadvantaged children and young people. Together we produce theatre performances, spectacles, and theatrical giant-puppet processions. Through theatre and arts we aim to impart specific creative, social and life skills that can be of real help to young people in their adverse circumstances. By creating joyful and often fantastical community events and productions we seek to heal and rejuvenate not only individual but also communal spirit and self-confidence. We want to be a channel to all artists who share the same vision and are passionate about passing on their skills and knowledge to children and young people.

SOS Children's Villages ..... St Andrew's House, 59 St Andrew's Street, Cambridge CB2 3BZ.

SOS Children's Villages is one of the largest child welfare organisations in the world, providing family-style care for orphaned and abandoned children who have no-one else to care for them. It is based on the simple idea that every child needs a mother, a family and a home and to be part of a supportive community. Worldwide, there are more than 430 SOS Children's Villages in over 131 countries with more being built every day.
Additionally, SOS Children's Villages operates community outreach services designed to target and benefit children most in need, including street children, children in conflict and children affected by HIV/AIDS. All are open to local people as well, providing invaluable assistance and support for some of the world's poorest communities.

FACING THE WORLD ..... 608 Riverbank House, 1 Putney Bridge Approach, London SW6 3JD.

Facing the World is a UK-based children charity that offers facial reconstructive surgery to children with severe facial disfigurements who live in countries where they are not able to access the treatment that they need. Many children (particularly in the developing world) suffer terribly from the stigma attached to disfigurement. Most are unable to attend school, form normal relationships with others or undertake economic activities later in life. Where children have severe disfigurements multidisciplinary teams are needed and the medical infrastructure (MRI and CT scans etc) that are required to perform these surgeries safely are unfortunately not available in most countries. Facing the World's medical team all donate their services and we fundraise to cover the (reduced) medical costs, travel and accommodation for children and a parent. Most children stay in the UK for three months and all are able to leave the UK significantly better able to have "normal" lives.
