Asthma UK (1990) | |||||||||||||||||||
1 in 7 children have asthma in the UK. Asthma is a condition that affects the airways - the small tubes that carry the air in and out of the lungs. Children with asthma have airways that are almost always swollen and inflamed. When these inflamed airways come into contact with an asthma trigger, symptoms of asthma appear. Asthma symptoms include coughing, wheezing, a tight chest and getting short of breath. Asthma UK is the UK's leading independent authority on asthma and provides the most up-to-date, medically accurate information for those concerned about asthma.

THE ELISABETH SVENDSEN TRUST
The Elisabeth Svendsen Trust provides riding for children with special needs and disabilities, using specially selected donkeys from those rescued by The Donkey Sanctuary. Over 200 children visit each centre weekly from special schools and groups and benefit immensely. Not only have there been dramatic improvements in posture, mobility and speech but also in the majority of cases, children's self-esteem and confidence increase. We receive no government aid and rely totally on the generosity of our supporters. If you are able to help by way of a donation, you can be assured that your gift will be used to its full advantage.

RHYS DANIELS TRUST | |||||||||||||||||||
Little Rhys Daniels, the inspiration for this charity, suffered from a life-threatening illness and was the world's first to receive a bone marrow transplant to combat the condition. The Trust has been set up to help families who have to travel to specialist locations and live for long periods of time away from home while caring for a seriously ill child. We aim to ease some of the enormous stress that afflicts these families and their sick children. Please help us to raise the funds to help those who need it most.
