The clear and easy diagrams are simple to follow. The "helper's notes" for each
diagram are designed to be read to the "learner" - and, if wished, the "helper" may
record the notes onto a cassette tape so that the "learner" may go through this
reading system on his/her own, or listen additionally for practice, at home. It
often helps to have a "known" voice on such a tape.
With very young children, it is often enough to simply read through the diagrams
with them, to begin with: they very soon "get the hang of it" and the simple and
logical progression through the learning process means that they absorb the basic
language structure without complex explanations. Slightly older children will
however find the full notes valuable (especially on a tape) in absorbing both the
language structure and the spelling and pronunciation rules.
The easy identification of correct vowel sounds from the position of each word on
the disk makes for swift progress, and the measured introduction of new elements
of language simplifies the learning process for both readers and helpers.
