DISK 71.

The next sound we come to is "er", the next of the "attention seekers". This sound can be made up in lots of different ways!

E plus R makes this sound, as in:

serve * swerve

The word "swerve" uses the double brick S W.

I plus R often makes this sound if there is no E following the R, as in:

stir * sir * mirth * bird

third * fir * birth * firm.

The last of these words, "firm", introduces the double brick R M.

Now you read the words on this disk:

(pause) Yes, they are:

serve * swerve * stir * sir * mirth * bird

third * fir * birth * firm.
