Port and Starboard 2
You will recall that one of the earliest mnemonic articles I did - click here - was on how to remember which side of a ship was port and which side was starboard. One of our visitors Dr Cled T. Click has given us another suggestion:
Here is another way to keep them "correct".
Use alphabetic ascending order:
P (port) comes before S (starboard)
L (left) comes before R (right)
Therefore, Port will always be Left and Starboard will
always be Right.
Thanks to Dr. Click for his contribution. If you have any mnemonics that you use regularly, please send them to us and we'll put them up on the site to share with our visitors.
