CHRIS MOON
Some of you may not have any idea of who Chris Moon is
and apart from this article some of you may never hear of
him again. He has been in the public eye and has written a
very good account of his life and the challenges that he has
faced. It is because of the way he thinks, his marvellous
attitude in the face of adversity that I want to bring him to
your attention.
About 5 years ago aged 32, Chris Moon was blown up in a
minefield in Africa. His injuries were so severe that he had
to have his right leg and right arm amputated. Can you
imagine what it could be like to lose parts of your mobility so
suddenly like that. You could have forgiven anyone in that
position to be devastated about their tragedy but as a
positive thinker, Chris chose to get on with his life. After
having a prosthetic leg fitted his first goal was to learn to
run again. It was difficult at first but now he runs in races
and marathons raising money for good causes.
Chris says "I think attitude is everything and we control our
own attitude ....... in my view giving up is the only real
failure."
