HOW TO PASS EXAMS
How to Pass Exams, is Dominic O'Brien's second book. In his first (read about How to Develop a Perfect Memory in May 98's book review) he looked at the application of good memory principles to a variety of common problems. How to Pass Exams, as the name suggests, will help you do just that by showing you how to apply memory skills to assist your recall in examinations. Dominic, 5 times World Memory Champion, sums up the secret of success in exams to 3 simple words:
Desire and Technique
It is important that you grasp the significance of those words. If you really want to pass your exams, and I mean really want to, and you have the right techniques, providing you apply yourself, you will pass.
How to Pass Exams is divided into two parts. First of all Dominic introduces you to the fundamental skills that you will need to master namely speed reading, Mind Mapping and memory techniques. Over half of the book is dedicated to explaining how to read quicker, take better notes and remember anything that you want. The second half of the book focusses on memorising specific types of information such as scientific, historical and geographical facts, foreign languages and famous quotations. Each chapter is summarised and appropriately, Dominic gives good commonsense advice on applying yourself to and planning your revision.
This book is packed with many useful tips and techniques that really do work. So if you are about to begin your revision for this year's exams (whatever the level) then I urge you to get a copy of this book because it will give you all the skills necessary to remember and recall just about anything.
Do you really want to pass your exams? IF SO THEN GET THIS BOOK AND APPLY ITS TEACHINGS!!
