GO MAD!
- THE ART OF MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Most of the material that I have reviewed so far has been directly related to learning and thinking. This month I had planned to review a book along similar lines, only directed more at adults and the workplace. That was until I met Andy Gilbert, the author of GO MAD! The Art of Making a Difference.
You will have probably picked up from previous articles and some of the reviews that I believe that success leaves clues and that we can achieve much, much more than we currently believe we can.
Andy Gilbert's book can show you how YOU can make a difference. Based on information gleaned from people who have already made a difference, Andy has identified seven key principles for achieving success in your life, namely:
Have a strong reason why
Define your goal
Plan your priorities
Believe in yourself
Involve others
Take responsibility
Take action
Andy goes into each principle in great depth and provides useful examples and exercises to illustrate the points he makes and to provide you with information so that you too can GO MAD.
I like this book for several reasons. First of all, it is well written, easy to read and causes you to think about you and your goals. Secondly, all royalties and profits are being donated to the 'Go Make a Difference' Charity whose aims are:
To help young people understand and apply practical success principles
To make this area of education freely accessible to young people
For every copy of the book sold, the Charity will give five free copies of the book to young people who would probably never have had access to this kind of help in their lives. This book is suitable for both young people and adults and is a fabulous introduction to fundamental success principles. So if you want to make a difference in your life then I suggest you read this book.
GO MAD! The Art of Making a Difference by Andy Gilbert (ISBN 0-9537284-0-4) costs Ł9.99.
